The Symphony presents the “most ambitious” season with 23 season ticket concerts in three theaters

The Minister of European Funds, University and Culture, Miquel Company, presented today the “most ambitious” season of the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra with “new formats and places” and a hundred performances around all the Balearic Islands of September to May. Of these performances, the Symphony will offer 23 season ticket concerts —six more than the current one— in three theatres: Palma Auditorium, Trui Teatre and Palma Main Theater. The rest corresponds to extraordinary concerts, operas, chamber cycle (#SonamPerTu), social cycles and educational programs spread throughout Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.
“This program with a hundred concerts marks the beginning of the new history of the Symphony coinciding with the beginning of the works of the new headquarters, La caixa de Música,” explained the councilor. “We promote the presence of the Symphony in all the Islands, diversify its presence in new stage spaces, strengthen the presence of the creators and artists of the islands and give presence to all possible genres and styles,” he added about the objectives of the season. The three cycles of self-produced season tickets offer a great diversity of programming with “illustrious names from the international classical music scene”.
The season ticket for the Palma Auditorium will host a total of eight concerts with the participation of guitarist Rafael Aguirre, the Balearic Islands University Choir, tenor Josep Bros and soprano Aylin Pérez, among others.
The Trui Teatre season ticket consists of eleven concerts with names such as the violinist Leticia Moreno, the cellist Truls Mork, the pianist Judith Jáuregui and the violinist Francisco Fullana, who will perform Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons under the direction of Jonathan Cohen.
As for the season ticket for the Teatre Principal in Palma, the public will be able to enjoy in four concerts the premiere of the play Germania500 by the young Mallorcan composer Antoni Mairata, conducted by Leonard Slatkin, pianist Alexandra Dovgan and cello. list Alban Gerhardt.
A historic season
The managing director of the Fundació Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears, Pere Malondra, has explained that the concerts in the outer part of Mallorca, in addition to the season in Manacor, will be extended with a cycle at the Teatre Principal d’Inca, and also with performances in other scenic spaces on the island or regular festivals such as Santanyí, among others.

Season tickets
Season ticket prices will be € 225 (Palma Auditorium Series), € 270 (Trui Teatre Series) and € 90 (Palma Main Theater Series). Individual tickets will cost € 30 (Trui Teatre i Teatre Principal de Palma) and € 35 (Palma Auditorium). Tickets will go on sale from 23 August and individual tickets from 6 September (Trui Teatre), 13 September (Auditorium of Palma) and 25 September (Teatre Principal de Palma).
